Why Couples Love Hosting Weddings in Long Island City, NY at The Foundry

Finding the right wedding venue means more than checking availability calendars. You need a space that brings your vision to life while giving guests an experience worth remembering. At The Foundry, we restored a 19th-century building on Ninth Street in Long Island City. From ceremonies in our lush courtyard to final dances under industrial ceilings, every moment unfolds in a setting with genuine character.

Couples appreciate hosting weddings at this Long Island City venue for its unique industrial architecture and versatile event spaces. With over 3,000 square feet of restored space, a lush courtyard, indoor greenhouse, rooftop terrace with Manhattan views, and multiple rooms, the venue offers a memorable setting for a variety of wedding moments.

Industrial Elegance Done Right

Most New York wedding venues follow predictable patterns: hotel ballrooms with standard décor or rooftop spaces that look alike. We chose a different direction. Our building showcases 3,000+ square feet of meticulously restored space with authentic architectural details. Fine varnishes were manufactured here in the 19th century before the Albra Metal Foundry operated from this location. Their logo still marks the corner at 9th Street and 43rd Avenue. By the 1970s, this structure sat abandoned. The Du Val family purchased the property in 1980, restored it to reflect its original industrial character, and began hosting events in 2001. We're the only foundry in this area still standing today.

Multiple Spaces Work Together

Our Main Space delivers 3,000+ square feet of raw, flexible area with stunning proportions that adapt to your style. The blend of modern and classic design ensures your celebration photographs beautifully. Step outside to our lush outdoor Courtyard, surrounded by greenery with views of the Queensboro Bridge. This area works for ceremonies, cocktail hours, or dinner beneath the open sky. Our indoor Greenhouse brings natural elements inside, creating a distinct atmosphere. The rooftop Terrace offers Manhattan skyline views. The Albra Room and The Billiard Room provide additional spaces for intimate moments or preparation areas.

Photography That Stands Out

The Foundry functions as a dedicated photography venue for engagement shoots, product work, and creative projects year-round. That quality transfers to your wedding day. The restored industrial elements, natural light, and authentic architectural features create backdrops that experienced photographers know how to capture. We regularly host film, video, and photo shoots. The Courtyard's greenery contrasts with weathered brick. The Terrace frames Manhattan behind you. The Main Space adapts to whatever aesthetic you bring.

Expert Team Delivers Results

Angela Ortiz, our Venue Manager, and Lindsey Hamma, our Events Manager, guide couples from initial inquiry through celebration completion. Allison Du Val, our Managing Director, oversees operations. This team brings extensive experience hosting weddings, corporate events, launch parties, and bar and bat mitzvahs. Our ratings demonstrate consistency: 5 out of 5 on The Knot, 4.9 out of 5 on Google, and 4.5 out of 5 on Yelp. These numbers come from actual couples who celebrated here.

The E or M trains stop at 23rd and Court Square, the R train reaches Queens Plaza, the N or 7 trains serve Queensborough Plaza, and the F train stops at 21st Street/Queens Bridge.
